Gökalp Gönen is a student at Yildiz Technical University studying Interactive Media Design. His two most recent videos ‘Funismagus’ and ‘Güveç’ are inspirational and unique. Funismagus is about an explorer who set forth on a journey for revenge. The magic wand will fight four powers of the ancient world (fire, water, earth and air) and it will lead the way for the explorer. Güveç is about a strange forest creature trying to find his own place on the food cycle. I was wondering about the studio at university, and I came across Nick editing this video, impressed instantly. I think the concept is brilliant, and being a lover of typography I instantly was struck by how he had captured and created the letters. The combination of smooth movement and snap-shots, topped off with the music in the background works really well, and should stand a strong chance to win the Sky Arts competition that it was intended for. We had an email from someone asking us to take a look at Philippe Gamer‘s short movies, and I’m glad she got in touch! This post consists of two videos one titled “The Chase-Trailer” about “A crazy, irresistible, intense, spectacular car chase between police and four unlikely accomplices” and the other titled “Stop Pain” about “pain and how you can stop it.”

‘Darkness Follows’ is an experimental short film, ‘Darkness Follows’ explores the forces of light and darkness as two strangers find their destines intertwined. Starring CJ Johnson (‘Creepers’, MTV’s ‘Wanna Come In?’) and Caitlin Litzinger (Maxim model, Ryan Gosling’s ‘Drive’). This short is all in slow motion and it’s vintage style is reminiscent of 70′s horror films.

So my girlfriend has been a busy bee,  posting a fair amount of stuff lately, so now its my turn. This time its a little different, we’re going to look at a Motion Graphic piece. A genre I haven’t  the pleasure of dipping my feet into. But never-the-less i recently came across this video and had to post it up here. I was going to search the web for more Motion Graphic Inspiration, but you know what? This deserves a whole space of its own. Its hilarious, and excellently done. Hats off to the guys over at ColorBleed.
