15

We recently received an email from the group that have been working along side street artists Roadsworth & B.Armstrong  to help transform a shopping mall into an eco themed piece of art. The outcome is surprisingly really good! saying surprisingly sounds like I didn’t expect a good outcome, that is wrong, I did, but what the group done with the materials at hand is what surprised me. alot of  creative and outside the box thinking going on here, and of-course, already a lot of attention has been attracted. If you are a fan of eco friendliness,  you will love this!

Urban Photography by Jürgen Bürgin (User Submission)

Jürgen Bürgin (10)

Jürgen Bürgin is an urban photographer based in Berlin. His current, ongoing series is called ‘Urban Ballads, is a series of street photos he has taken all over the world, dark, serious, unstaged portrait photographs of strangers in big cities. All those photos have a melancholic, sad, thoughtful mood, he see’s them as a metaphor of solitude and uncertainty. The photos are cinematic, narrative, and each of it has gaps, voids, has some unanswered questions, what urges the viewer to complete the untold stories, that lie behind those photographs. Those photographs are games, or role plays, somewhere placed between arts and reality – with an artwork that ideally lures the viewer into this realm of untold stories. And what the viewer might discover by entering this realm, is a little bit about people and their relationships to each other, a little bit about arts and perception, a little bit about the world and how we see the world – but foremost he hopes that the viewer learns a lot about themselves.

Abstract Portraits by Joseph Loughborough (User Submission)

feature

Joseph Loughborough spent his formative years playing in the derelict boatyards and creeks of Portsmouth. These vivid early memories are clearly evident in his figurative work, where the sensual curve of human ribs might be mistaken for the carcass of an old boat sinking into the mud, its skeletal hull protruding thorough the weeds. Honesty, expressionism and possibly exorcism can be read from his impulsive and intuitive rapid-fire mark making, which strive to grasp a comprehension of our human condition. Questions are frequently asked of the viewer about how we interpret our oft-untold fears and desires. A profound interest in the life and works of Egon Schiele, Frank Auerbach, Käthe Kollwitz and Alberto Giacometti gives a further insight into his aesthetic. Alongside his involvement as artistic director of a theatre production company in London, Joseph works from his studio in Paris where he is currently preparing for his first solo show in early 2012.
