Aisingioro Yun-jia - Oriental Chinese Bamboo Painting 1

A Beautiful Collection of Traditional Oriental Paintings

Traditional Oriental paintings have always been a fascination of mine, from the expressive use of line to the particular use of color. The colors are in fact what I find most interesting; Yellow, Red, Green, White and Black are seen as their standard colors, and each correspond to a different element and emotion.

Black corresponds to water, a neutral color. Red, corresponding with fire, symbolizes good fortune and joy. Green is associated with health, prosperity, and harmony. White, corresponding with metal, represents gold and symbolizes brightness, purity, and fulfillment. White is also the color of mourning. It is associated with death and is used predominantly in funerals in Chinese culture. Yellow, corresponding with earth, is considered the most beautiful and prestigious color. The Chinese saying, Yellow generates Yin and Yang, implies that yellow is the center of everything.
