Literal Street Art Project by Dan Speight of ‘The Soft City’

The Soft City is Dan Speight, an East London based graphic artist with a love for London’s architecture. His new venture, Book Block, is street art in the most literal sense; a celebration of London’s unique and beautiful buildings in which illustrations of the city’s streets are printed directly onto the sides of reclaimed books, transforming shelves into streets. The work takes a fresh approach; fusing screenprinting and graphic illustration with a comic book twist.

Each Book Block is unique, created with a random selection of books and with the resultant image being heavily influenced by it’s relationship with the material it’s printed on. Made to order, Book Blocks make excellent bespoke collectors pieces.
