Jennifer Collier transforms music sheets, vintage wallpaper, old maps, newspapers and more into intricately crafted decorative paper art models. Jennifer often creates objects like cameras, shoes, type writers, telephones, a variety of garments and more. Her works have been published in an ample amount of magazines, blogs and exhibited in many galleries.
My practice focuses on creating work from paper; by bonding, waxing, trapping and stitching I produce unusual paper ‘fabrics’, which are used to explore the ‘remaking’ of household objects. The papers are treated as if cloth, with the main technique employed being stitch; a contemporary twist on traditional textiles.
