Whether I'm working on a new project or not, every morning I feast my eyes on some of the most inspirational art and design projects I can get my digital hands on. It flicks my switch of creativity and puts me in a great mood for the rest of the day. Rather than only compiling the work of one artist for an article on Inspiration Hut, I'm going to make a conscious effort to document my findings in whatever form they come in. Today, it's handcrafted lettering. If you would like to suggest or submit your …
I recently featured Paul Von Excite in our compilation article 18 Inspirational Hand Lettering Logos by 18 Awesome Typographers and realized that we had not actually featured his work before. This seemed a little weird as his typography skills are very impressive. So that being said, below I have grabbed 30 hand drawn typography logos from his Vol.1 and Vol.2 Lettering & Logotype projects for your inspiration. Vol.1 gathered Paul many new fans and he hopes Vol.2 receives the same feedback (I am sure it will). Pay him a visit and give him that all important thumbs up …
Zachary Smith is a freelance letterer and illustrator from Savannah, Georgia, and one who has gathered himself a large following across all social networks. His most popular being Instagram where he has nearly 60,000 followers! And we all know that speaks volumes. He often illustrates inspiring quotes to help motivate and encourage others and what I like most about Zachary Smith, apart from the obvious (his portfolio) is how nice he is. Just read the captions on many of his pieces, you'll see what I mean. Keep up the work Zachary.

"The Sign Painter" a short film created by Dress Code documents Mike Langley as he creates and handcrafts various signage for New York coffee shop Vassilaros & Sons Coffee Co. This short film has captured beautifully Mike's passion for his chosen craft. At one point he talks about how he would favor a company who had gone the extra mile to commission a sign painter as opposed to those who popped down the local sign shop and slapped up vinyl – I couldn't agree more.
Being a massive fan of hand-drawn typography, which should be evident on our marketplace and my dribbble account, I was excited to see this collection of work in one place. All of which has been carefully crafted by Russian typographer Evgeny Tkhorzhevsky, whos work I have been following for a while now and I must say that he is a great inspiration. Particularly his typeface work, but I'll save that for another article.
This great collection of detailed typography is by designer and illustrator Greg Coulton. After 12 years of working as a graphic designer he decided it was time to follow his dream of being a freelance illustrator, currently he works from his own studio. Greg has an online shop on his website, check it out via the link at the bottom of this article. Drawing has always been my number one creative passion – even when working as a designer I instinctively work out concepts and ideas using pen and paper.

Dana Tanamachi, a fantastic typographer well known for her chalk lettering, was featured on Inspiration Hut a little over a year ago (click here to see the article). Recently I had re-visited her portfolio and was happy to find some new and just as beautiful projects. These more recent projects included pieces for Evernote, Andaz Hotel, O You and more.
These typography pieces are by Me and Gonzo aka Eric Waetzig, his speciality is typography and custom lettering. “It really comes down to one thing” Eric says, “I just want to do rad things with rad people. Remember there’s more than one way to skin a cat.”
