Ed Fairburn uses maps as a canvas for his illustrations, his map portraits are created using mostly ink and pencil. Ed was shortlisted for the Association of Illustrators Awards in 2013. My work is mostly figurative and exists across a range of surfaces and contexts. It’s sometimes interactive, often playful but serious most of the time.
Mercedes DeBellard is a freelance illustrator currently living and working in Granada, Spain and is the artist behind the collection below. Dylan Andrews is the artist behind the collection of charcoal portraiture you see below, he is a third year student studying drawing and applied art. Dylan specializes in portrait illustration, his artworks are of friends, family and himself. His aim is to project emotion without relying on deliberate facial expressions, instead placing an emphasis on manipulating light and shadow in his images in order to construct dramatic and intense atmospheres.
This collection of reversed portrait pencil sketches are by Nettie Wakefield, each piece was created with pencil and limited edition prints are available. Nettie has been working freelance since 2009 and has a masters degree in drawing which she completed in 2013. She also had her debut solo show at the Rook and Raven Gallery in Fitzrovia in February 2014, and in June 2014 she donated work to a charity auction to raise money for The Old Vic.
Los Angeles based illustrator Conrado Salinas has an impressive digital illustration portfolio. He was featured in Versus Magazine's 2014 Summer Issue and had his 'Bone Collector' piece printed and featured at Adobe MAX 2014. Conrado also has a few more process steps of certain digital pieces that you can see on his website.
Antonella Montes is the artist behind these unique and surreal portrait illustrations, she is an Italian artist based in Beijing. "Acrylics, inks, pens, markers and crayons are my basic painting elements, usually working on small format, mixed technique and a preference for black, white and red." Bartosz Kosowski is an illustrator based in Lods, Poland, he has had a big list of clients, Perspective, Apent room and 11 Freud to name a few. His illustrations have been awarded by the European Design Awards, American Illustration and Associazione Culturale Good Design. Australian based Web Developer and Graphic Designer Laura Eddy is also, in her spare time a keen portrait illustrator.
