San Francisco based graphite sculptor Agelio Batle is the master craftsmen behind this beautiful collection of graphite sculptures. I haven’t seen many sculptors use graphite as a regular medium, which is a shame. Graphite as a material holds so much personality. Looking through the creations below you notice a soft delicate trait and a general all over sense of authenticity. A sculpture that has really been worked on by hand.
Sculptor Agelio Batle carries the spirit of nature’s timeless forms in this series of graphite objects. Batle’s reverence for organic forms was inspired by countless hours spent in the grandeur and wisdom of nature, intimately observing and studying. Further nurtured into being through Batle’s formal studies in biology and art, this vision thrived and grew.
Weightlessly, the quill brings words soaring on the spirit of prayer and protection. In Islam, the quill is thought to have been created from light one thousand years before God created anything else. Also a symbol of predestination, the quill writes words imbued with a spiritual and ancient guidance.
