Surprisingly Delicious Looking Miniature Food Sculptures

Kim Clough aka Fairchildart has been making these delicious looking miniature food sculptures since 2008. All of her works are created using coloured Fimo clay and then each piece is completed using chalk pastels. Kim’s sculptures usually take anything from 1 – 3 hours to make; “cookies are the easiest, something like the lamb roast I fiddle with quite a bit until I’m happy with the shape, colouring, and texture.”

Every time I make something new I always try to add something extra to make it even look more real.  I take cues from artists who create photorealistic pencil drawings – many take their reference photo and turn it at different angles to really look at what they’re seeing.  And it’s super tempting to rush through the process to get to the end result, but taking your time is worth the extra effort.
